Topic: Relative Path

I use a portable version of TaggedFrog (via VMWare's ThinApp) and have TaggedFrog in my portable HDD. All my files to be tagged are also on the same portable HDD.

It would be great if TaggedFrog stores file location as relative (such as relative to the database location) such that if I use the portable HDD on another machine and the HDD is assigned a different drive letter, TaggedFrog will still be able to find all my tagged files as their file locations are relative, not absolute.

I don't know if you use Adobe Lightroom which has a very good tagging feature for photos. Provided that the photos tagged are in the same or in a sub-directory of the catalog (analogous to TaggedFrog's database), then I can move the entire directory (catalog and all photos) to another place in the hard drive or another machine, and all the tags will still be able to find the files.

Jeff

Re: Relative Path

Hi Jeff,

Thank you for suggestion. Some people already asked for such functionality and I am planning to provide it in the future.

I cane here to request just this smile  Good to see others are anticipating it as well and that it's being done. smile

Re: Relative Path

+1, this would be needed for internal file association.:)
