Confirmed - version 1.01 has fixed this problem.
I'll do some more testing and report anything else I find.
Nice work Andrei!

I checked all those files and they are all there.
I re-registered the dsofile.dll and it didn't seem to make any difference.
I shutdown the old instance and then reran the install but wasn't able to get it to enable the IMPORT button.
The date on that file dsofile.dll is old though 7/5/2001 and that is from the install file.

I'm not sure what you mean but if I drag new files into the either of the right hand side panels, the button IMPORT is disabled.
I have never seen it enabled.

I just downloaded and installed the latest full version 1.0  and I can see the Import Button greyed out too.
I installed the new version without uninstalling the previous version as I didn't want to risk deleting my database of tags.
Did I do something wrong too?

Dave, thank you for your contribution!

I checked the sources – app is doing what it’s promising and I hope it could be useful for everybody who missed such functionality in TaggedFrog.

By the way, it is really interesting question for me: how many people need this feature - switching between the libraries? If this functionality is highly desired than I can add it to my todo list.

Having separate DBs for tags may be the solution to removable drives. Perhaps I could store the tags.wft on the drive itself and then load it after I connect it. Once the new wft file becomes active, the program will know what the drive designation is and I don't have to worry about remapping drive names and all displayed file entries will point to this drive.

I can only suggest mapping the drive’s letter manually. You can do it using Computer Management.

Please open Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Computer Management, in Disk Management select your drive, right click it and open “Change Drive Letter”.

I hope, this will help you.

Sure- that will work but its really not a good solution. Can we put that under future enhancements so that removable volumes can be registered, flagged and perhaps reconnected using a TaggedFrog process. I really don't have a clear idea how this would work but I'm just putting it out there in case someone else has already got a solution.
Thanks

I have a stack of USB drives that have gigabytes of files that I want to tag. However, currently when I tag them they use the current Drive designation which might be e: or f: or g:   etc   this time.
Next time I connect the drive, it may be different.

What is the best way to handle this problem.

Probably we need, but you know… The users don’t like to read the manuals and the developers don’t like to write them. smile

What would be better on the directory expansion is if you made the the entire directory name a link as well as the ARROW. So if I click on that DIRECTORY name, it will open as if I had clicked on the ARROW icon.
Moving a little mouse pointer over an ICON is harder.

Wow - this is fantastic. I think we need to write up the documentation a little clearer unless this is a case of "too lazy to RTFM"
Thanks a lot for the quick response.

Hi Andrei,
great program - very useful.

I have so many files on my PCs, I don't necessarily want to tag them all. I want an easy way to tag directories but if I drop the directory into the list from file manager, it will tag all the files and subdirs.
I think it should ask me  "all files in the directory or just the directory?"

The current way of using the Folder Icon and having to locate the directory through the folder tree is very painful. Doesn't even let me paste a Directory name into any text box.

Is there any other way?

Additionally, when I have a list of files displayed from a filter, I think it would be good if I could
1) select the file
2) right mouse and  Open the Containing Directory from there.

Once again - great work!
