Topic: user's settings not saved
hello
very usefull software!
The user's settings are not saved : options in edit menu, every time I start taggedfrog, the settings are back to default.
Is-it normal or is there anything to activate ?
thanks

Hi,
No, it's not normal. Please provide me the following information:
1) What version do you use
2) Do you have config.xml in <system drive>\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\LunarFrog\TaggedFrog\1.0\ ?

I resend you a mail with my questions; please check your spam box if you will not receive it. Waiting for your response.
Thank you.
I just registered to ask about the exact same problem. I am using 1.0.4 but do not have a LunarFrog directory under the all user application folder.
I reinstalled the software and I now have the directory. It still did not save the font size setting I would enter in the application so I just manualy edited the config file and the settings stayed.

Are you able to save any changes? Active language, new version checking, etc.?
I also registered to post about this problem. I'm running 1.0.4 on a standard installation. The thing is that until recently there were no problems with this on the exact same install. It appears to be connected with the most recent Windows (XP in my case) update. Certainly, the first time I encountered this problem was after the most recent Windows update.
The biggest problem for me is the resizing bug, as it now takes me several minutes to get the TaggedFrog window the size I want. By carefully making small changes in the size and then quitting the program, I can eventually get the window as large as I want. It should be noted that as long as the program doesn't crash, the user settings are saved until the system is shut down. That is, my settings are saved after quitting the program, but appear to be lost if I shut down my computer.
Does it crash on a specific window size or it depends on the displayed content?

I can't really say. I thought I had seen some posts here a while ago about resizing causing crashes. In my case, it seems to be a matter of speed and there may be an accumulative effect. Making large-scale quick changes to the size of the window, like clicking the maximize button or just dragging the window the entire width of the screen in one go, always seems to crash the program. Doing it in small increments seems to make a difference, but after 4 or 5 changes it will still crash. I have noticed that a crash is almost always preceded by a black bar appearing tag window in the direction of the change before the tags readjust.
Anyway, like I said, the problem of changes not being saved appears to be connected to the most recent Windows update.
This is really odd. I thought I had worked around the problem of changes not being saved by manually editing the config file. That seems to have worked for a few days, but today all the changes were suddenly gone again.
Does anyone know if there is already a solution to this problem?
Regards,
Jan van Bekkum
