Topic: TaggedFrog on server
Is there anyway to use TaggedFrog on a network server, so that whenever one person adds new tags or updates anything, the updates will show up on the other computers too?

No.
Perhaps I'm wrong but couldn't the whole program reside on the server and everyone runs it from there using a shortcut to the same installation? Or what about using the standalone version and having each installation point to the same database?
Yes, theoretically it's possible. But unfortunately application is not designed to support multiple access operations simultaneously. If you will try to share database between the users, from time to time you will loose some information.
Any news on that one? I'm looking for a solution like the one described (multiuser usage for fileserver) for company use. If you have no solution yet, can you recommend a product to look at?
Thanks
Network support is in development, I am going to introduce it at Autumn.
Great software, but will need to use it on a server - so two questions:
1. Any update on the server version or recommondation for other software?
2. Could you please elaborate on the problems of installing the software on the server? Do you know when data will be missed?
I am working on a comprehensive solution to support network environments. It will be available soon.
Hi Andrei,
Sorry to bother you but will this be available soon? (ie, before Christmas?)
Many thanks in advance!

I'm expecting new server version, Thanks!! ![]()

Will we be notified on site or by e-mail about the new version? I am visiting the support site everyday:rolleyes:
I will have a post in this thread as well as tweet about it on http://twitter.com/taggedfrog
I've been searching better and easier tagging program for 6 months. But I can't find it. Plz Andrei, show me the preview. All of my people longing for it.
We are having trouble with sorting files.
Thank you. from Kor.
And here we go. Fileversum beta is available at http://fileversum.com.
Please note, this is an early Beta and I do not recommend using it in production – it is published for the feedback gathering proposes.
Dear Andrei,
I guess I did not get the "spirit" of the new "taggegfrog" version. I used to tag folders and select them using tags and all I wanted was a better and configurable interface (color, size and pictures for tag clouds, for instance).
Perhaps I missing something obvious and I am not seeing the full potential of Fileversum.
Is there a way you could tell me what are the capabilities of Fileversum? A video, an example, a sample file, some manual...I do not know...
I hope Fileversum does what TaggedFrog does and much more and in a better and more controled way.
For example: is there a tag cloud? where?
Thank you for your attention!
BTW: I'm not that newbie to computers but I have to say I do not understand the main purpose of Fileversum. I sure it is more than tag files and folders but it is not clear to me.
I agree with that.
I expected the server version of Taggedfrog. or easy interface that anyone can easily tag and use it. (anyone who cannot understand English)
My workspace is in Korea. and we could use the Taggedfrog without English. But the new version, we cant understand how to use it, even we cant tag the files and cant share the tags.
But thank you. for ur attention.
edsferr, Yongwoo thank you for the feedback.
I think the main point of confusion here that Fileversum is not a replacement for TaggedFrog, it's a new product.
Fileversum is based on a different concept, concept of the multiple attributes per file instead of just one tags field, and is designed to be extremely flexibly. I can understand that as a current TF user you might be confused, but I appreciate your thoughts as it shows me that I need to find an approach to unlock the power and flexibility of Fileversum for the users.
Thank you. I think I need some kind of manual. ![]()
Dear Andrei,
I tried to use Fileversum and define some attributes.
After that I tried to tag a document. No sucess..:(
I also tried to tag a folder. No sucess either:(
Is Fileversum capable of tag a folder?
If Fileversum was not able to tag a folder it will not have the use Taggedfrog had for me.
Is it possible to release a Taggedfrog 2.0 with better GUI (which you have said it was done on other topic) instead to a whole new concept?
Thank you for your attention and keep the good job!
Edson:)
